Split PDF
Extract pages or split one PDF into several files.
Files never leave your browser
Splitting lets you pull the pages you actually need out of a long PDF, or break one big document into smaller files. ToucanPDF shows every page as a thumbnail so you can pick or cut visually — no typing page ranges and hoping you got them right.
How it works
- 1Select your PDF — every page appears as a thumbnail.
- 2Choose “Extract pages” to tap the pages you want in one new PDF, or “Split into files” to drop scissors between pages and cut the document into parts.
- 3Click the button to download your extracted PDF (or a zip of the parts).
Frequently asked questions
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Every ToucanPDF tool runs entirely inside your browser using your device’s own processing power. Your file is read into memory, worked on locally, and handed back as a download — it never travels to us or anyone else. You can even go offline after the page loads and the tool still works.
- Can I get each split part as its own file?
- Yes. In “Split into files” mode, each section between your cut points becomes its own PDF, and they’re bundled into a single zip for download.
- Can I reorder pages while splitting?
- Splitting keeps the original order. If you also need to rearrange, rotate, or delete pages, use the Organize PDF tool instead.
